Yamaha YXZ1000R / Textron Wildcat XX Camshafts
BC Brian Crower Yamaha YXZ, Arctic Cat / Textron Wildcat XX camshafts are new semi core, not regrinds or welded up hardface lobes, based off of Yamaha's world platform 3 cylinder / 4 stroke Genesis engine that is also found in the following Yamaha snowmobiles, the Yamaha Vector, Yamaha Nytro, Yamaha Sidewinder and the 1049cc Yamaha Viper, plus some Yamaha Waverunner applications. The Yamaha Genesis engine found in the YXZ1000R 1000R engine platform is a liquid-cooled, 998cc, 12-valve, double-overhead-cam, inline triple cylinder with 172 horsepower. The 998cc displacement features a bore size of 80mm (3.150"), a stroke of 66.2mm (2.606") and 11.3:1 compression ratio and dry-sump. This same setup is found in Yamaha snowmobiles like the 2008-up Vector, Venture and Sidewinder (in lower compression for turbo). The Yamaha Viper snowmobile features the same 66.2mm stroke but increased the cylinder bore size to 82mm for added displacement. Even some of Yamaha's Waverunner offerings feature this versatile power plant. The BC camshafts are brand new, semi finished, induction hardened cam cores made from SAE 1050 steel that allows the capability to grind unlimited lobe specifications while still maintaining the factory base circle size. Up until this point, camshaft options available for the Yamaha YXZ, Arctic Cat / Textron Wildcat XX and Viper, Vector, Sidewinder, Nytro were limited...not any more.
